| Received: October 25, 2005 Hello my ishmael brethren, Gwa here, I now have enough good news to lighten the hearts of human animals and any other animal-spirit or plant-person listening. The other two leggeds may not be around for very much longer but we bison are creating a sustainable culture and lifestyle right here in the hills of Indian territory. At this moment I'm looking at a majestic briar root that the community of life provided for me this last moon. It's a burly beast which I shall make pipes from. This summer on the Moonflowers and volunteer detura a giant moth with a huge probiscus "sank it's teeth" into that sweet and magical nectar, two moons ago I saw my first red and I mean bright red dragonfly, and a while back I saw the first alligator snappin' turtle since I was a youngun' in carolina. Yes THE BIG PICTURE is ugly but here on the hickory covered hills we're living a life of joy and wonder amongst the gods that make this place home. We are now a collective of artists, farmers, and animist iconoclasts located near Woody Guthrie's home town. We are presently trading our wares on the Oklahoma Food Coop (www.oklahomafood.coop) under the guise of Ishgish Habitat, the collective has 2 five acre plots north of OKC, and we are attempting to create a new culture and food base here in the buckle of the bible belt. Two members came from seattle 3 years ago after travelling the country as The Bison Band, and the rest are an extended family of frame carpenters. Please feel free to contact us if you have some skills to share or any ideas on reconstructing our world view. B-well, Gwagwagwe of the Bison Band member of the Ishgish Habitat A small part of the new tribal revolution. |
